The START/FINISH line is about 50 metres up from the LAWNS CAFE and100
metres up from some public toilets on Hove Esplanade.
The route then continues along the Esplanade up towards The King Alfred Centre.
(please make sure to watch out for any cyclists and pedestrians using the cycle
route that you will pass on you way towards the 1st km marker).
The 1st km and 6th km markers will be on your right just before the World
famous Mrs Bumbles tea shop.
After possibly stopping for a brief chat and a scone with Mrs Bumble, that
said she's not often there,the course carry's on up towards the Lagoon.
The 2nd km and 7th km markers are just past the King Alfred centre and
a few metres from our water station.
When you come to the end of the Esplanade you follow the path going
right that then takes you past Hove Lagoon and onto the pavement that
leads you back to The King Alfred Centre.
The 3rd and 8th Km markers are level with WELBECK AVENUE as you head
back towards the START /FINISH line.
The 4th and 9th Km markers are just before you get to some traffic
lights.Please make sure to stay on the pavement and you will need to
turn right in order to join Hove Esplanade.
(Please take extra care of other pedestrians and cyclists when crossing
over the cycle lane).
If you are doing the 5km run then its an approximately a 1km jaunt back
to the START/FINISH line.
If you are doing the 10k route run you also run back towards the
START/FINISH line but will then be directed around a tear drop of
traffic cones just in front of the START/FINISH area that will then
send you back up and around HOVE LAGOON for your second and
final lap.
